Ok, I promised I would write
a little about myself, so here goes (hey look, there´s even a picture!).
My name is Keith Morris and I work as a video graphic designer in
Atlanta, Georgia. I have a Bachelor of Music in Double Bass
Performance from the University of Georgia and I am two recitals away
from completing a Masters of Music in the same concentration.
I have a passion
for playing bluegrass bass and I play as often as I possibly can.
I am a true upright bass snob and believe you can do anything on
an upright that you can do on an electric, well, within reason.
I play in primarily
two bands in the Atlanta/Athens area.In Atlanta, I play with a group
of fine musicians called steelBlue.
This band is focused on polished arrangements and tight cutting
vocals with a good selection of original tunes. This band
plays lots of private parties as well as occasional appearances
at the Redlight
Cafe
in Midtown.
In Athens, I play
with a straight out Bluegrass party band called the BTU´s (Bluegrass
Thermal Units). People who sit in with us are always amazed
at the multitude of cute 20-year-old hippie chicks doing the Greatful
Dead twirly dance in front of hard core bluegrass...but hey...who´s
complaining? You´ll often catch us playing on the street corner
in Athens, GA having just a little too much fun.
